RunUnited partners with Mother’s Magical Milk to host Healthy Start 5K
It’s never too late for a healthy start! That’s the theme of a 5K presented by RunUnited and Mother’s Magical Milk. The Healthy Start 5K will be held on the Walnut Creek Linear Trail, October 8, 2022.
Accountability, consistency and support can make a big difference in the success of your fitness journey! The 5K is open to all fitness levels, including walkers. The Team Challenge allows families to complete the distance and win prizes or bragging rights. “It is very important to promote a healthy lifestyle in the community,” says Scymentress Williams, General Manager of RunUnited. “Our race series has given us the opportunity to impact the physical health of the public, while partnering with local non-profit organizations.”
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Mother's Magical Milk, a Lactation firm committed to increasing breastfeeding initiation and duration rates. “We wish to educate the community on the linkages between the healing power of human breastmilk and certain metabolic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension as well as certain gynecological and breast cancers,” says Owner Tenise Hordge. “We are very excited about our partnership with RunUnited because regardless of breastfeeding choices, it is never too late to get a healthy start.”
RunUnited is Mansfield’s first running store. The store is located at 650 Highway 287 N., Suite 110, Mansfield. RunUnited specializes in customized shoe fittings for runners and endurance athletes.
